DETECT - Vani Vachi

For this week's DETECT, we welcome the Berlin-based artist @vanivachi.

Vani Vachi is a DJ and producer originating from Kyiv. She is also a resident of the queer parties at Veselka. Her music taste has been shaped internationally, starting from her early years in London and further refined as an important part of Kyiv’s rising scene. There, she curated parties such as Outside and Gems in the underground club Otel’.

Her sets are always unique and unpredictable, with a strong preference for 90s and 2000s flavors, a mixture of broken and straight beats, classical acid basslines, and groovy sounds. Being a front-row dancer herself, she knows that the journey is what is always needed throughout the night. When performing, she always takes the dancefloors through a metamorphosis of layers, textures, and kicks.

Since the beginning of her rising career a few years back, Vani Vachi has already performed on all major dancefloors across Ukraine, such as Brave! Factory and ICKPA festivals. She has also shared her music around Europe and is a regular at Berlin’s Pornceptual events.

Her recent release of the first 8-track EP on Diffuse Reality Records shows a contemporary approach to old-school trance, techno, and electro references. It further solidifies Vani Vachi's position as an up-and-coming artist in the world of club music.
